Nineteen

Nineteen is a SharpWing that was introduced in The Hybrid Prince. It was one of the guards on the Dungeon Isle enchanted by Precipice and is currently living with Umber to raise Harmony.

Description

Nineteen is dark blue and iridescent purple with perfect little silver claws. Its wing was snapped at the shoulder before Umber fixed it, and afterwards the break was replaced by a small misshapen blob. Nineteen has a small face and silver eyes. It has a skeleton key under one of its wings.

Nineteen was previously damaged due to a hawk trying to take it, leaving its wing split at the shoulder and unable to fly. Umber offered to and managed to fuse it back together, thus allowing Nineteen to fly again.

Later, in the Memory Room, Nineteen appeared once more when Umber, Quokka, and Platypus were seeking answers. It stabbed Quokka's palm with its tail, allowing her blood to drop into the bowl. This brought forth the memory of Beryl and Snakeroot violently taking the throne from the Triumvirate; Tuatara, Horizon and Monarch. Following the memory, it prompted Platypus to offer her blood as well, bringing forth the memory of Queen Euphoria and Magnolia three thousand years ago. After Umber deduced that more blood meant seeing into the memories of a dragon's ancestors, it applauded him before leaving.

After Umber showed Mulberry the Memory Room, they discovered that Nineteen was in the room with them. Umber requested to see far back into the past, to which Nineteen rolled its eyes and stabbed Mulberry. After Umber was ordered to find and kill Platypus and the Triumvirate, Nineteen reappeared and landed on Umber's shoulder, seemingly nervous. It accompanied Umber as he found Dugong, who commented on the "pointy little dragon". Once they had found Mulberry and discovered Beryl had taken the key to his chains, Umber asked Nineteen if it could help, saying that he wanted to free the SharpWings from the Dungeon Isle. Nineteen contemplated, then unfolded a long metal piece from under its wing and unlocked the padlock, revealing that the SharpWings carried a skeleton key with them. It stayed with Umber as he flew south to find Precipice's secret.

Six months later, Nineteen accompanied Harmony, Quokka, Wollemi, Mulberry, and Umber as they crossed the Barrier.
