Darkling was a female BeetleWing who was introduced in The Hybrid Prince. She was the BeetleWing representative for the council of the Queens' Claws.

Darkling appeared alongside Sorrel in the prologue waiting for Bloodshed and Precipice to arrive. She warned Sorrel that the two knew about Harmony and they observed the NightWing and SkyWing talk about how the village was illegal. After hearing that Bloodshed would destroy Harmony regardless of the law, Darkling said that she would protect it. Sorrel told Darkling that they could find a new place where everyone from Harmony would be safe.
