Talons of Power ceremony

(Not to be confused with the Talons of Power organization or the book, Talons of Power.)

The Talons of Power ceremony is an event where all two-year-old SeaWing dragonets are tested to see whether or not they have animus magic.

Description

The ceremony was devised due to the catastrophic discovery of Albatross's power. SeaWing dragonets are instructed to perform a simple task, such as moving a coconut with animus magic. SeaWings who successfully order the object are then declared an animus dragon.

Timeline

• When Albatross was a dragonet, he accidentally enchanted a clam to bite all of Sapphire's claws off. This event inspired the creation of the Talons of Power ceremony.
• Fathom participated in the ceremony. He successfully ordered the coconut to hit Albatross and was declared an animus dragon.
• Turtle became sick at two and did not participate in the event. No animus was announced that year.
• When Turtle turned three, Queen Coral was guarding Anemone's egg and King Gill was taken by SkyWing forces. The ceremony was canceled.
• Turtle participated at four years old. He knew he was an animus and did not want to receive attention, so he enchanted Anemone to be an animus. She successfully ordered the coconut to float and the ceremony ended.
