Template:Charbox Prudence was an adult female NightWing who was the mother of Foeslayer and the grandmother of Whiteout and Darkstalker. She seems to be a very cunning dragon who doesn't treat Foeslayer very well.

During Runaway, she admits that she brought Foeslayer along on the diplomatic trip to the Ice Kingdom so that she would fall in love with Prince Arctic and have his dragonets, bringing animus powers to the NightWings. This shows that she thinks lowly of Foeslayer, saying that she would be the only NightWing "stupid" enough to do it since she knew that her daughter would be the kind of dragon to betray their tribe, and that she is generally cruel and manipulative when it comes to the future of the NightWing tribe.

Prudence is also mentioned in Darkstalker (Legends), although not by name, when Darkstalker reveals to his family that he is an animus. Foeslayer, after that announcement, shakes her head and says that her mother (Prudence) would be pleased. She wanted Foeslayer to have eggs with Arctic and have animus dragonets.

Biography

Runaway

In Runaway, Prudence was one of the four dragons, including her daughter, who went on the diplomatic trip to the Ice Kingdom.

Prudence attempted to take off Foeslayer's animus-enchanted diamond earring, but Prince Arctic quickly made up an excuse, telling her that it was a diplomatic gift that would be rude to decline.

She was, at one point, "frozen" by Prince Arctic with his enchanted dagger and then unfrozen. She agreed to escape with him and Foeslayer from the IceWings along with Starclaws and Discretion after being threatened by Arctic.

Darkstalker

Foeslayer mentioned Prudence when talking to Prince Arctic, saying that Prudence told her what to do all the time. She was also mentioned, not by name, when Darkstalker revealed his animus power. Foeslayer said that her mother would be pleased.

• Prudence means the quality of being prudent, or acting with or showing care towards and thought for the future.
• Prudence is technically the reason the NightWings have animus magic, because in Runaway, it is explained that she wanted Foeslayer to fall in love with Arctic so that the NightWings would get animus magic. She further encouraged Foeslayer and Arctic's relationship.
