"I did this all wrong. You're going to rule forever, aren't you, Mother? You should thank me. No one can stop you now."
— Orca to Coral about Orca's statue, recounted in The Lost Heir

Orca was an adult female SeaWing who was introduced in The Lost Heir. Along with being a princess, she was secretly an animus dragon. She was killed by Queen Coral during a royal challenge.

Description

Orca was regal,[3] tough-looking, and beautiful, with dark green scales[4] and sapphire-blue eyes.[5] She was fully grown at her age of death.

Personality

Orca appeared to be power-hungry and extremely ambitious during her lifetime, challenging Coral at the age of seven and using her magic to secure her power over the SeaWing throne.[6] Along with her ambitious personality, Orca was a talented sculptor.[7] She was disliked by all of queen Coral's subjects.

Biography

Pre-Series

Before her challenge for the SeaWing throne, Orca enchanted a marble statue that she had sculpted of herself and dedicated to the Royal Hatchery. Coral did not know at that time that Orca had been an animus dragon or that the statue was enchanted to kill off the heirs to the SeaWing throne. Expecting to win, Orca then challenged Coral for the throne of the SeaWings, nearly winning, which shocked Coral. She was accidentally speared with the narwhal horn Coral wears on the end of her tail and died.

After her death, the enchanted statue began killing off all the female heirs in the hatchery for years, murdering the unhatched dragonets in secrecy. Tsunami proved that the statue was destroying the eggs when she defeated it and saved Auklet.

Queen Coral owned several of her carvings, even though some of her subjects disliked Orca, such as Moray. Tsunami discovered that the statue in the hatching nursery was enchanted by her to kill off possible heirs to the SeaWing throne.
