"That's because I have had excellent training at the side of the most wonderful queen in Pyrrhian history."
— Moray to Coral, The Lost Heir

Template:Charbox Princess Moray is a female SeaWing. She adores Queen Coral but detests Tsunami, Anemone, and Auklet due to the fact that they might one day challenge and kill her queen to take the throne of The Kingdom of the Sea. It was mentioned that she wore a fake-looking smile, which was one of the reasons Tsunami thought she was killing the heirs. Tsunami also thought it was odd how she could smile for so long. It is said that she often throws disgusted looks towards Anemone, and even sometimes toward the statue of Orca in the The SeaWing Royal Hatchery.

Appearance

Moray is described as having gray-green scales and small, unsettling, bone-pale eyes that closely resemble those of her father, Commander Shark.[1] She also wears silver bracelets on her forearms that are studded with sapphires.[citation needed] Princess Anemone described her as drippy, fatuous, and about as interesting as a sea slime.

Biography

Moray seems to adore Queen Coral so much that she is willing to do almost anything for her, although Anemone believes that she is faking her admiration, making her and Tsunami suspect that Moray is murdering Queen Coral's heirs (whom she hates, because they might one day kill her queen). However, this theory was proved incorrect.

Moray serves in the SeaWing Council as a publisher, spreading Queen Coral's writing around the continent. Moray is also Shark's daughter, thus making the dragonets she detested (Princess Tsunami, Anemone, Orca, and Auklet) her cousins.

Moray is seen when reporting a dead SkyWing on a nearby island. She joins the patrol to check on it.

When Tsunami is attacked by Whirlpool, she doesn't know it was him and suspects it was Moray, thinking of how much the SeaWing hates Coral's heirs.

In Turtle's flashback to the animus test, Moray is one of the several dragons among Queen Coral to overwatch the test. She is also the first of the viewers to notice Anemone's animus powers when she enchants a coconut.

Relationships

Moray simply adores Queen Coral. She is treating her aunt like she's the most perfect queen ever. Queen Coral trusts her niece and helps Queen Coral during the council meeting by helping clean Herring's brother's blood on the floor.

When Tsunami came to the Sumer Palace with her mother. Moray came to give Queen Coral the bad news until she saw Tsunami. She glared at Tsunami, thinking that Tsunami will challenge Queen Coral for the throne.

When Anemone was born and grew up with Queen Coral, Moray always glared at her cousin. The same goes for Tsunami, Moray will think that Anemone will challenge Queen Coral for the throne as well.

Quotes

"Your Majesty. [...] I'm sorry to interrupt, but Urchin just arrived with strange news. I knew you'd want to hear it right away."

"Apparently a dead dragon has been found only a few islands from the Summer Palace."

"Her, [...] And we don't know yet. But the strange part is that it's not a SeaWing. It's a SkyWing."

"Good morning, Your Majesty, [...] I know yesterday was a shocking day, but I hope you slept well. I worried about you all night."

"Mostly the underwater editions, [...] Those tend to sell the best. of course, I spend all my energy promoting them--"

"We would have heard if there had been a challenge, surely."

"No more eggs, [...] No more dragonets, no more challenges."

"But everything I do for your scrolls is so terribly important, [...] They're like your other children, really. I couldn't abandon them."

Trivia

  • The name "Moray" is derived from the Moray eel.
  • If Orca's Statue killed all of Coral's heirs, Moray might have had to take the throne after the Queen's death.
  • Moray was an heir as well, so she should have been a target, although there is a possibility that she didn't hatch in the Royal Hatchery.
    • However, perhaps Orca didn't specifically tell the enchanted statue of herself to kill all possible heirs to the throne, sparing Moray of any danger.
    • Another possibility would be that Moray is older than Orca, so she'd hatched before Orca enchanted the statue.
  • In Talons of Power, it was said that she was old enough to be a member of the council. This disproves the common theory that she is a dragonet.
