"And stop the war, whatever you have to do."
— Herring to Tsunami [1]

Template:Charbox Herring is a male SeaWing guard serving under Queen Coral. He appears briefly in the second book in the Wings of Fire series, The Lost Heir, where he is seen guarding Clay, Sunny, Starflight, and Glory outside their cave and withholding the keys.

History

Herring was one of the four SeaWing guards on duty when Clay was chained to the floor of the Summer Palace. The other guards were Snail, Kelp, and Flounder. Tsunami later convinced them (rather than threaten with violence) to free Clay, since they'd be disobeying orders if they knowingly allowed the Dragonets of Destiny to drown. Herring tells Tsunami that earlier she had saved his brother when she got him to the healers, as Queen Coral would have kept him there for the entire meeting.

Trivia

  • A herring is a type of foraging fish that live in oceans and seas.
  • Herring's brother was the one that Tsunami arranged to be tended to by the healers, instead of having to wait throughout the entire meeting for treatment.
