Current was an adult male SeaWing who was introduced in Darkstalker. He resided in the Kingdom of the Sea as a prince, and was one of the survivors of the Royal SeaWing Massacre.
Description
Current was large[1] but thin,[2] with blue scales[1] and haunted blue eyes.[3]
Personality
Current was polite.[4] After the Royal SeaWing Massacre, Current was haunted, grieving,[3] and shivered constantly.[2] He could not look at Fathom without flinching away,[2] and was desperately in denial about the true nature of Albatross.[3] He was a shell of his former laughing, confident, easy-to-smile self.[2]
Biography
Legends
Prince Current was first mentioned indirectly by Fathom when he said that his cousins mostly ignored him, politely uninterested in his stories.
Pearl later said Current liked "those macadamia things," and would eat them all. He escaped the massacre by flinging himself into the ocean. Current swam nonstop for days before being washed into a cave in the Night Kingdom, where he was discovered by Clearsight and Darkstalker. He then was brought to Queen Vigilance's palace, where he remained for around a year until he was sent back to the SeaWings with a message and an offer.
When Fathom was summoned by Queen Pearl to the throne room, Current was brought in. He seemed haunted by Fathom and begged the guards to not be forced to look at him and was led away at his own request.
Relationships
Much like most of the other royal SeaWings, Current loved Albatross and was in disbelief after the massacre. He was in denial, claiming that something else must have turned the animus mad. Albatross's massacre left Current in a traumatized state, affecting him to the point where he grew anxious around Albatross's grandson Fathom.
Current was said to mostly ignore Fathom. Despite being his cousin, Current's relationship with Fathom was strained after the massacre. He seemed to be traumatized due to Albatross and feared Fathom due to his magic, reminding him of Albatross and his powers.
