Opal was a female IceWing animus introduced in The Dangerous Gift. She is a spirit who guides inexperienced IceWing queens into becoming more open-minded and learning more lessons. She is the creator of the Gift of Vision, which is an opal ring which makes dragons see visions
Appearance
Opal has unusual scales by having hint of another color behind the white in each scale, which might be the reason for her name, Opal.[1]
