Template:Charbox Hvitur was a male IceWing who was introduced in the prologue of The Dragonet Prophecy. He was a member of the Talons of Peace and one of the Guardians of the Dragonets. He was killed by Burn during his escape from Scarlet's Palace with the prophesied SkyWing egg, and was the first dragon in Wings of Fire to be murdered.
Appearance
Hvitur has moon-pale,[1] cold silver scales,[2] silver wings,[1] blue eyes,[3] and a long body.[4]
Personality
Hvitur seemed to have a personality similar to Asha's; he believed in the goodness of dragons and had great faith in the prophecy. He disliked violence and saw the war as unnecessary bloodshed. The other guardians may have been planning to rely on Hvitur and Asha to raise the dragonets, with Dune and Kestrel as trainers and Webs as the teacher. If this were the case, it would have been a significant issue when Asha and Hvitur were killed.
While most IceWings are cold, sarcastic, and sometimes snobbish, Hvitur seemed to be an exception, fiercely believing in the prophecy.

He was in the middle of escaping the Sky Palace when Burn caught and killed him, along with destroying the egg he was supposed to deliver to the cave underneath the mountains.
Pre-Series
Hvitur, along withKestrel, Webs, Dune, and Asha, was charged with the task to find and bring the dragonets of destiny's eggs to the caves under the mountain, along with the duty to protect and raise them for the task of fulfilling the prophecy about them that Morrowseer had foretold. Unfortunately, Asha died of her wounds shortly after delivering Clay's egg.
The Dragonet Prophecy
In the prologue, Hvitur had broken into the SkyWing Palace and stolen the prophesied egg. The largest guards pursued him, knowing it was the dragon Queen Scarlet had warned Burn about. He was caught, and Burn had hot chains wrapped around his snout, preventing him from using his frostbreath. Hvitur pleads for her not to break the SkyWing egg but as a result, she does.
Burn dramatically dropped the egg over the cliff, pretending that it slipped through her talons and proceeded to torment him, saying that even if the dragonets did save the world, it would be far too late for him. She shredded Hvitur's wings after the IceWing desperately tried to leap after the egg. She then stabbed him in the back of the skull with her venom-tipped tail, before flinging him off the cliff. His screams stopped long before he hit the ground.
Sometime later, Kestrel found Hvitur's corpse at the bottom of the cliff, along with a few fragments of the shattered SkyWing egg.
The Jade Mountain Prophecy
In the prologue, Queen Scarlet mentioned that an IceWing thief broke into the palace and stole an egg, but was killed by Burn. His name was not mentioned.

Trivia
- His name is pronounced hi-vee-tur. It means "white" in Icelandic, and is also a type of Icelandic horse.
- Tui stated that the reason his name was Hvitur was that she was saving her favorite names for the characters that survived longer.
- He is the only true IceWing known to have been in the Talons of Peace, as the other was Cirrus, one of Chameleon's masks.
- The prologue is different for the graphic novel arc, with the prologue for the The Dragonet Prophecy being the dragonets hatching rather than Hvitur's death and the breaking of the SkyWing egg.
- Hvitur is the only character in The Dragonet Prophecy not to appear or be mentioned in the The Dragonet Prophecy graphic novel.
- Hvitur was the first dragon in the series to die, not including the unhatched SkyWing dragonet
- He was supposed to be the "father" of the dragonets
