This caused the insane Albatross to walk right past her, believing she was already dead. After Albatross was killed, she emerged from her hiding place under a tipped-over couch and claimed her new role as [[Dragon Queens|queen]] of the SeaWings. Pearl was a female SeaWing dragonet who was introduced in Darkstalker. She ascended to the throne and became queen of the SeaWings at the age of five after the events of the Royal SeaWing Massacre.

Fathom and Pearl did not always get along, and she was often exasperated by him,[4] but she never followed him around to be unreasonably mean towards him.[8] After he was summoned by Albatross for his first training session, Fathom noted that she appeared to be mad at Fathom for being an animus.[9] Even after three years after the test, she acted jealous towards Fathom whenever he went off to practice with Albatross, but most of the time, she went back to normal, often exasperated by his and Indigo's immaturity.[6]

After the events of the massacre, Pearl's relationship with her brother was strained, as she feared that Fathom would go insane very much like Albatross,[10] and did not trust him. However, her love towards her brother was still there as she accepted his oath and spared him from death.

Indigo

Despite being exasperated by her,[4] Pearl considered Indigo as her friend, and stated that she wanted Indigo to live a happy life.[3] Pearl believed that Indigo would be honest with her,[11] but planned for Indigo to stay away from Fathom despite her and the prince's wishes.[11] Pearl made Indigo part of her royal guard to keep her away from Fathom so they could never have dragonets or possible animus dragons together. She promised Fathom she would take care of Indigo and find a minor noble for her to have a family with.[11]

Manta

Fathom mentioned that there was a weird vibe between his sister and their mother. Before the massacre, Indigo stated this was because the only way for Pearl to become queen was for Manta to challenge Lagoon and win, then for Pearl to challenge Manta and win.[2]

  • Pearl was noted to have had poor handwriting when she was a dragonet.[12]

  • Before the Royal SeaWing Massacre, Pearl was thought of as "the one who might be queen someday." Because of this, she had special diplomacy classes, extra policy sessions with the queen, private lessons to improve her handwriting, and advanced etiquette courses.[9]
