It is an island continent with highly varied geographical regions, shaped like a sitting dragon, and is home to the seven tribes of dragons.

Geography
There appears to be a large mountain range that runs roughly down the center of the entire continent. This range is called the Claws of the Clouds Mountains and divides the continent into eastern and western parts. To the far west is desert, and to the northwest, icy wastes and glaciers. At the southeast corner, there is a lush and large jungle, bordered by swampland that is fed by the Diamond Spray River meeting the sea at Diamond Spray Delta. The northeast corner is full of mountains. At the extreme eastern side, a small chain of islands forms the "tail" of the "dragon." This section is known as "The Bay of a Thousand Scales." It is located in the Northern Hemisphere of the planet it is on.

Flora and Fauna
Pyrrhia, also known as the Distant Kingdoms by the dragons of Pantala, is the sole setting of the Wings of Fire series during the first ten books, as well as the main setting of the Legends and Winglets books. Pyrrhia is a large continent with highly varied biomes, including  the Ice Kingdom, the Kingdom of Sand, the Sky Kingdom, the Mud Kingdom, the Rainforest Kingdom, the Kingdom of the Sea, and the island. The Old NightWing Kingdom was located on a peninsula southwest of the Kingdom of Sand. During the time of Darkstalker, this peninsula used to be larger, forming the "claw" of Pyrrhia. The humans who inhabit Pyrrhia live in human settlements.
The flora of Pyrrhia resembles much of that of other parts of the earth, according to the geographical regions. For example, in the jungle, there are jungle plants that resemble those that grow in areas such as the Congo or Amazon.

The dominant life form on Pyrrhia are the dragons, of which there appear to be seven types. One step down from the dragons are the Scavengers, (humans) a bipedal, terrestrial hominid with some semblance of social structure and the ability to manufacture tools/weapons, which the dragons refer to as claws. They controlled Pyrrhia until the scorching. Many terrestrial animals, including those that are domesticated such as cows and pigs, also appear to inhabit the land, and serve as prey for the dominant life forms. In the IceWing territory, penguins inhabait the land.
Description
Pyrrhia is a dragon-shaped continent composed of several different biomes. A large mountain range, the Claws of the Clouds Mountains, runs through the center of Pyrrhia, from the "wing" of Pyrrhia down to its "belly". The largest mountain in the range was formerly Agate Mountain,L1 but after it was destroyed by an avalanche approximately 2000 years ago,L1 Jade Mountain is now considered the largest.

Tribes
The Ice Kingdom forms the "head" of Pyrrhia. Its terrain primarily consists of snowy and icy tundras,TDGW4q and it is well known for its sub-zero temperatures and freezing winds.WT Due to the cold temperatures, it is extremely difficult for dragons other than IceWings to live there. The land between the Ice Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sand is a barren wastelandEP that is highly contested territory between the two tribes.TDG

There are 7 dragon tribes; the MudWings, SandWings, IceWings, RainWings, SeaWings, SkyWings and NightWings. Each tribe has found a settlement in Pyrrhia that suits their needs. The NightWings may live in an area other than Pyrrhia.
The lost city of night was located on the Talon Peninsula of Pyrrhia. It was characterized by vast canyons and ravines.L1 Caverns and caves were carved into the rock.L1 The city was surrounded by a range of sharp-edged mountains known to the IceWings as Darkstalker's Teeth.DoD It was abandoned by the NightWings in fear of Darkstalker's return.EP who fled to live on the island. Over time, the peninsula sank into the sea, and shrunk due to earthquakes,DoD  avalanches,DoD  tidal waves,DoD  and Darkstalker's magic. It was briefly inhabited by Darkstalker and some NightWings in Talons of Power and Darkness of Dragons but was later re-abandoned. In the modern period, it is full of ruined and unstable structures, including an abandoned theater.AGttDW Constructed around the ruins of the old city is Renewal, a settlement led by Fierceteeth.

The Kingdom of Sand makes up the "chest" or southwestern portion of Pyrrhia. It is characterized by its vast,L1 scorchingEP desert landscape and rolling dunes.W3q The terrain is flatL2 and adorned with numerous oasesEP and oasis towns.L1ToPe The desert is also home to the Great Five-Tail River, which historically was a highly disputed territory between the SandWings and SkyWings.WT The dragon settlement of Possibility is located along the river.

The Kingdom of the Sea forms the "tail" of Pyrrhia. It is primarily made up of small islands, forming the archipelago known as the Bay of a Thousand Scales. It is characterized by vast stretches of ocean,TLH featuring landforms such as white beaches,TLH coral reefs,TLH and kelp forests.TLH

The Mud Kingdom makes up the "back" of Pyrrhia. Its terrain primarily consists of a vast, marshy wetland,L2 with stretches of grasslandTDP scattered with trees.TDP Along the Mud Kingdom's northern border is the Diamond Spray River, which feeds into the Diamond Spray Delta.

The Rainforest Kingdom forms the "hind leg" or southeastern section of Pyrrhia. It is characterized by its giant trees,WT  vibrant flowers,THK tangles of vines,WT and thick canopies of leaves.WT  After the Exodus, the village was constructed within the kingdom to serve as the NightWing tribe's new home.

The Sky Kingdom forms the "wing" of Pyrrhia. It is characterized by cliffs,WT mountains,WT rivers,WT lakes,WT forests,WT and valleys.WT The mountains, most notably the Claws of the Clouds Mountains, are often shrouded in mist.EP It is separated from the Mud Kingdom by the Winding Tail River. The dragon settlement of Sanctuary is located within the Sky Kingdom, in the foothills of the Claws of the Clouds Mountains.DoDe Numerous scavenger dens are located in the Sky Kingdom, including the Indestructible City and Talisman.

Pyrrhia, also known as the Distant Kingdoms by the dragons of Pantala, is the sole setting of the Wings of Fire series during the first ten books, as well as the main setting of the Legends and Winglets books. Pyrrhia is a large continent with highly varied biomes, including the Ice Kingdom, the Kingdom of Sand, the Sky Kingdom, the Mud Kingdom, the Rainforest Kingdom, the Kingdom of the Sea, and the NightWing island. The Old NightWing Kingdom was located on a peninsula southwest of the Kingdom of Sand. During the time of Darkstalker, this peninsula used to be larger, forming the "claw" of Pyrrhia. The humans who inhabit Pyrrhia live in human settlements.

Description

Pyrrhia is a dragon-shaped continent composed of several different biomes. A large mountain range, the Claws of the Clouds Mountains, runs through the center of Pyrrhia, from the "wing" of Pyrrhia down to its "belly". The largest mountain in the range was formerly Agate Mountain,[1] but after it was destroyed by an avalanche approximately 2000 years ago,[2] Jade Mountain is now considered the largest.

The Ice Kingdom forms the "head" of Pyrrhia. Its terrain primarily consists of snowy and icy tundras,[3][4] and it is well known for its sub-zero temperatures and freezing winds.[5] Due to the cold temperatures, it is extremely difficult for dragons other than IceWings to live there. The land between the Ice Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sand is a barren wasteland[6] that is highly contested territory between the two tribes.[7]

The lost city of night was located on the Talon Peninsula of Pyrrhia. It was characterized by vast canyons and ravines.[8] Caverns and caves were carved into the rock.[9] The city was surrounded by a range of sharp-edged mountains known to the IceWings as Darkstalker's Teeth.[10] It was abandoned by the NightWings in fear of Darkstalker's return.[11] who fled to live on the NightWing island. Over time, the peninsula sank into the sea, and shrunk due to earthquakes,[12] avalanches,[12] tidal waves,[12] and Darkstalker's magic.[event 1] It was briefly inhabited by Darkstalker and some NightWings in Talons of Power and Darkness of Dragons but was later re-abandoned. In the modern period, it is full of ruined and unstable structures, including an abandoned theater.[13] Constructed around the ruins of the old city is Renewal, a settlement led by Fierceteeth.

The Kingdom of Sand makes up the "chest" or southwestern portion of Pyrrhia. It is characterized by its vast,[14] scorching[15] desert landscape and rolling dunes.[16] The terrain is flat[17] and adorned with numerous oases[18] and oasis towns.[19][20] The desert is also home to the Great Five-Tail River, which historically was a highly disputed territory between the SandWings and SkyWings.[21] The dragon settlement of Possibility is located along the river.

The Kingdom of the Sea forms the "tail" of Pyrrhia. It is primarily made up of small islands, forming the archipelago known as the Bay of a Thousand Scales. It is characterized by vast stretches of ocean,[22] featuring landforms such as white beaches,[23] coral reefs,[24] and kelp forests.[25]

The Mud Kingdom makes up the "back" of Pyrrhia. Its terrain primarily consists of a vast, marshy wetland,[26] with stretches of grassland[27] scattered with trees.[28] Along the Mud Kingdom's northern border is the Diamond Spray River, which feeds into the Diamond Spray Delta.

The Rainforest Kingdom forms the "hind leg" or southeastern section of Pyrrhia. It is characterized by its giant trees,[29] vibrant flowers,[30] tangles of vines,[29] and thick canopies of leaves.[29] After the NightWing Exodus, the NightWing village was constructed within the kingdom to serve as the NightWing tribe's new home.

The Sky Kingdom forms the "wing" of Pyrrhia. It is characterized by cliffs,[31] mountains,[32] rivers,[32] lakes,[33] forests,[32] and valleys.[34] The mountains, most notably the Claws of the Clouds Mountains, are often shrouded in mist.[35] It is separated from the Mud Kingdom by the Winding Tail River. The dragon settlement of Sanctuary is located within the Sky Kingdom, in the foothills of the Claws of the Clouds Mountains.[36] Numerous scavenger dens are located in the Sky Kingdom, including the Indestructible City and Talisman.
