Current was an adult male SeaWing prince who was introduced in Darkstalker. He resided in the Kingdom of the Sea and was one of the survivors of the Royal SeaWing Massacre.

Pearl later said Current liked "those macadamia things," and would eat them all. He escaped the massacre by flinging himself into the ocean. Current swam nonstop for days before being washed into a cave in the Night Kingdom, where he was discovered by Clearsight and Darkstalker. He then was brought to Queen Vigilance's palace, where he remained for around a year until he was sent back to the SeaWings with a message and an offer.
When Fathom was summoned by Queen Pearl to the throne room, Current was brought in. He seemed haunted by Fathom and begged the guards to not be forced to look at him and was led away at his own request.
