Yellowjacket Hive

Yellowjacket Hive is one of the two northernmost of the nine Hives of Pantala. It is connected between Wasp Hive and Tsetse Hive, and is the closest Hive to the Poison Jungle. It was formerly ruled by Lady Yellowjacket until the events of The Flames of Hope.

Description

Yellowjacket Hive is the second oldest Hive, after Wasp Hive. It is ornate and was constantly being updated and upgraded in design. It is home to many large manufacturing operations.

Yellowjacket University

Yellowjacket Hive University is the university of the Hive. It trains students in engineering and manufacturing, including architects who direct SilkWing construction crews to designers who make glasses, lamps, and book printers.

The Lost Continent Prophecy

The Poison Jungle

When Swordtail reunited with Io and then asked her how she ended up in the Poison Jungle, she said that her original plan was to hide with the Chrysalis in Yellowjacket Hive. However, Io was spotted by guards at Yellowjacket Hive, who chased her towards the Poison Jungle.

Later on, Belladonna mentioned Yellowjacket Hive as the next Hive that she would burn down, saying "We just need a little more flamesilk, and Yellowjacket Hive will be a pile of ash before you can blink." Belladonna did not follow through with this plan, however, because the HiveWings were destroying the Poison Jungle, and Belladonna had fallen under the control of the othermind.

The Dangerous Gift

When Queen Snowfall had the vision of Atala, it was mentioned that she formerly resided in Yellowjacket Hive. In the vision, Wasp had searched Yellowjacket Hive for SilkWings, but had only found Lady Yellowjacket, instead.
