The Brightest Night, the fifth and final novel of the Wings of Fire series, will be published on Amazon March 25, 2014, and released to everywhere else on the first day of April 2014. It is announced that Sunny, the SandWing Dragonet of Destiny, will be the main protagonist.

This book follows The Dark Secret.

The title of the book following it is unknown.

Summary

It all comes down to this: The Dragonets of Destiny must finally bring the epic war to an end, reconcile the seven tribes, and choose the next queen of the SandWings... and make it out alive.

The author hinted that a SandWing dragonet based off the name of one of her sons would be briefly mentioned.

It has also been hinted that the book will reveal a new side to the scavengers. (Source: description of "The Brightest Night" iBook.

Trivia

  • It is one of the only books (along with The Dark Secret) where nighttime is of the background.
  • Fierceteeth, Strongwings, and Preyhunter don't want Glory to be their queen, so they are holding Sunny hostage.
  • Sunny's underscales look light yellow in the bright moonlight.
  • Although The Brightest Night was originally thought to be the final book in the Wings of Fire series, Tui T. Sutherland has revealed that she will be writing five more books, making ten in total. However, if the author chooses to write a sequel series rather than expanding upon the original books, this could be considered the final book of the Original Wings of Fire series.

Probabilities

  • Sunny might finally reconcile with her parents, although their status hasn't yet be disclosed.
  • The fireball from the NightWing volcano could have blinded Starflight.
  • Has feelings for Starflight
