Book 9 is the ninth book in the Wings of Fire series and will come out after Escaping Peril. Tui T. Sutherland has confirmed that the main character is a SeaWing. At The Brightest Night's launch party, she mentioned a possible return of a SeaWing royal daughter, or perhaps one of Tsunami's brothers. It has been confirmed that the protagonist is related to Tsunami and didn't appear in the the first 5 books, so it could be a male prince, probably Turtle. No official title or release date has been confirmed.
Tui T. Sutherland said on her blog that the ninth book might be the one to "rip out your heart and stomp on it".
