Sunny
- "That's not true. You can be whatever you want to be. I mean, I could say, well, I have no barb on my tail, I guess I'm just harmless and useless, and should sit in the corner covering my head whenever there's a fight. But I don't want to be useless and I'm not going to do that, not if dragons I care about are in danger."

Princess Sunny is the evil Animus princess of the SandWings, soon to be queen. Given the nickname "Terror of the Seven Kingdoms", even Kinkajou recognizes that her villainy is no match for Sunny's. The leader of the Dragonets of Destiny, Sunny used her magic and her friends to place herself in charge of Pyrrhia.
Appearance
To make herself seem unsuspecting, Sunny has enchanted herself to make her appearance less terrifying than her true form. She no longer has the threatening barbed tail of a SandWing, and the screaming souls of her victims are no longer visible through her scales. She is much smaller than her previous appearance, so to disguise herself in the presence of mortal dragons, and is believed to be "funny-looking" due to her claimed hybrid heritage.
Biography
Pre-Series
Princess Sunny of the SandWings is the hybrid daughter of Queen Thorn and Stonemover, Queen of the SandWings and animus NightWing, respectively. Her mother Thorn hid her egg in the desert for reasons unknown; possibly to make sure that she was safe. Dune was privy to Thorn's plan and stole Sunny's egg, taking it to the caves, where it hatched on the Brightest Night.
The reborn Sunny was transported to a cave, where she planned to become one of the Dragonets of Destiny, destined to end the war and bring "peace" to the world. To set her plan in motion, the dragonet Sunny enchanted two of her fellow dragonets to make dragons around them believe that they were royalty, so to position her Dragonets of Destiny in line for the thrones of their respective kingdoms. In the caves where she grew, she remained patient and pretended to be a kind but klutzy dragonet with no ambitions of her own, "awaiting unseen" from the others so to hide her true purpose.
After she decided that it was time to make her move, she subliminally convinced two of her minions to escape. Making sure that they were detected by the nearby Queen Scarlet so she could get rid of the unneeded Guardians, she toned down her ego and allowed herself to be captured, so not to spark suspicion, then eventually used her magic to help her and her underlings escape unnoticed.
Arriving at the palace, she allowed Queen Coral and the other SeaWings to believe that Princess Tsunami was her daughter, when in actuality, Tsunami was just under a spell to make others and herself believe she was a princess. After seeing her competition, Princess Anemone, also an animus, Sunny schemed ways to destroy her, and chose to enchant a statue that would destroy Anemone and any other SeaWing princesses, knowing that she could pass off the statue as belonging to some other supposed animus in the royal family who had managed to hide her powers. Although she feigned grief at the death of Kestrel, she secretly rejoiced, knowing that Kestrel would be unable to share her secrets.
In the rainforest, Sunny helped Glory in her challenge, using her magic to create an illusory sloth, then using her magic to force Kinkajou to move in front of Ex-Queen Grandeur's venom so to "protect" the sloth. Knowing how RainWing venom within families neutralizes, Sunny used her magic to neutralize the venom after Glory spat on it, giving off the impression that Glory was a descendent of Queen Grandeur, and the rightful heir to the throne. Having two of the seven tribes within her claws, Sunny moved on to the next.
As Morrowseer had realized what Sunny truly was, she knew that she had to get rid of him, so to prevent any chance of her machinations being exposed prematurely. Enchanting the NightWing volcano to erupt years before it was due, she forced the NightWings from their island and into the Rainforest, where she knew they would have to swear fealty to Queen Glory, who was already under her control. Morrowseer refused to swear allegiance to Sunny, knowing that the dragonets were under her, and realizing that if he did choose to leave the Night Kingdom, Sunny would make his life worse than death. He stayed behind when the volcano erupted, choosing death over fealty to a monster like Sunny. Still, by claiming that the prophecy was false, he convinced the other dragonets to no longer pursue their "quest", hindering Sunny's plans and forcing her to take action by herself.
After allowing herself to be "captured" by NightWings, she used fear tactics that she had used many times before on them and escaped from the rainforest without raising her underlings' suspicions. She traveled to the Scorpion Den, where she managed to convince a powerful SandWing, Thorn that she was her daughter, knowing that Thorn's mate was one of the few animuses on Pyrrhia, and that he would be unsuspecting of her if she pretended to be his daughter. After scouting out Burn's Stronghold, she used her magic to find the SandWing Treasure and the Eye of Onyx, then convinced her minions to stage a showdown between the three sisters, knowing that at least two of her enemies would be killed. Not wanting to take power for herself just yet, she positioned this new mother of hers in charge, until Sunny would be ready to challenge and kill Thorn for the throne. She succeeded in her plan, pronouncing Thorn as queen, thus putting Sunny positioned to take charge of four of the seven kingdoms on Pyrrhia: the SeaWings, RainWings, NightWings, and SandWings. Now, she would wait until it had been long enough from the war that her kingdoms would restore their armies to full strength.
Sunny worked to create Jade Mountain Academy, in which she would have access to royalty from the three remaining kingdoms to use either as hostages or as sleeper agents.
Sunny does not formally appear in Winter Turning, but she is mentioned.
Sunny pretended to feel grief after Queen Scarlet created a fake Glory head, though to keep up her persona pretended that she had no idea it was false.
Realizing that her mortal enemy, Darkstalker, has awaked, Sunny remained hidden, knowing that he wouldn't recognize her in the scales she currently wore. She slowly turned the school against Darkstalker. Although Darkstalker summoned the animuses of Pyrrhia to him, she was not among them due to her hybrid status.
Sunny emotionally manipulated Qibli, turning him against Darkstalker and convincing him to begin his quest to defeat her enemy, so that she would be able to rule.
Personality
Sunny chose her most recent name to imply that she has a very bright, optimistic personality. She occasionally pretends to by unintelligent, so that other dragons don't suspect her.
In truth, she is a manipulative dragon whose only wish is to inflict pain and suffering on others. She plans carefully, and makes sure that any dragon who crosses her suffers eternal torture.
Relationships
Sunny despises this NightWing who thinks himself higher than her, and is irritated by his crush. She keeps him alive knowing his usefulness.
A dragonet forced by Sunny to fall in love with Starflight, so to get him away from her.
A very useful dragonet whose kindness allows Sunny to convince him to follow her commands.
