Queen Ruby is the false identity Ex-Queen Scarlet used to hide Queen Tourmaline. Feeling that her throne was threatened, Scarlet had Chameleon make a spell, using Darkstalker's Talisman, that would change Tourmaline into Ruby, making the ambitious princess more shy and intimidated by her mother. It was mentioned by Chameleon that he also made Ruby never challenge Scarlet. After wearing the earring for so long, that part of the enchantment faded, which is why Ruby challenged Scarlet in Escaping Peril.
