Great Ice Dragon
The Great Ice Dragon is an ancient IceWing legend. Who or what the Great Ice Dragon is, is currently unknown, but Tui T. Sutherland has confirmed that they are considered a godly figure.[event 1] Many IceWings frequently swear under the Great Ice Dragon's name. IceWings believe the aurora borealis comes from the Great Ice Dragon's frostbreath.[1]

The Jade Mountain Prophecy
Icicle mentioned the Great Ice Dragon in her thoughts: "By the teeth of the Great Ice Dragon, this is boring as sand. I shall certainly tell Mother and Father and Aunt Glacier what a waste of time this entire school is."
The Lost Continent Prophecy
Throughout the book, Snowfall frequently swore by the Great Ice Dragon.
Winglets
Prince Arctic compared Snowflake to Foeslayer using the Great Ice Dragon. When Snowflake and Snowfox were talking about a way to stop him from marrying Snowflake, they mentioned that he would notice that he was not "the Great Ice Dragon's gift to the world."
Field Guides
Caribou mentioned the Great Ice Dragon in their scroll In the Village-of-the-Plentiful-Seals. They wrote that there was a temple dedicated to the Great Ice Dragon in the Village-of-the-Plentiful-Seals, along with We-Remember-and-Venerate-Caribou, where IceWings could go to get fed for free.
