Description

One of the entrances to the Dragonfly Bay village is connected to a vast cavern that is even larger than the marketplace within Cicada Hive. Outcroppings[1] and rock formations jut from the floor and ceiling, some of which spiral together into twisted columns. Dim slants[2] of sunlight and bits of rain trickle into the space from a few cracks in the roof, waterfalling down the craggy walls into a shallow pool[3] and into smaller increments on the floor.[4] The corners are dark, and there are small holes dotting the walls, leading to possible corridors everywhere. There is a shelf of rock resting halfway up one of the walls, with an opening leading to a tunnel behind it.[2] There is another ledge up near the light[5] that was used by Axolotl to hide their books, which are covered in parcel and stored between two dry rocks. The underground passage behind this ledge[6] leads to the heart of the village, which can be treked to via a path that goes from behind the wall, down through some tunnels, and into the central cave.[7]

There are a lot of people who reside within the village, and it is built a bit like a rabbit warren.[7] It contains several cave salamanders.[8]

Dragonfly Bay can be accessed from the village through a series of tunnels and winding rock corridors, ending in a cave overlooking the beach.[9] The journey to the Abyss village through these tunnels and cooridors took three days for dragons to complete.[10]

Society

The humans within the Dragonfly Bay village use torches that are composed of sticks with cloth tied around the end to burn as a light source.[2]

The Dragonfly Bay village was the first Pantalan human settlement encountered by Luna, Cricket, Bullfrog, Sky, and Wren while searching for the Abyss. Axolotl, a non-binary human, decides to lead the Representatives to the human settlement located near the abyss.
