Dragonbite viper
Template:Spoiler The dragonbite viper is a species of venomous snake that lives in the Kingdom of Sand.
Dragonbite vipers are first mentioned in Scorpion Den where it was said one had been spotted near an orphanage, although it wasn't really there and had been a set-up by Addax to get Thorn out of the way so he could exchange Sunny for his family. Qibli explained to Sunny what it was shortly before she was kidnapped and taken to Burn's stronghold.
It was first seen when Burn opened the box Blister sent to her when the three sisters met outside of the Stronghold. Burn killed the first one, as she had previously recognized the hissing noise coming from the box and knew that Blister had sent her a dragonbite viper. However, she was not expecting a second one to also spring out of the box, and it bit her before she could get rid of it. The second viper then nearly killed Clay; however, he was saved by Peril, who burned out the poison before it could spread to his heart. Peril then killed the viper with one strike from her talons.
Abilities
Dragonbite vipers are one of the most feared animals in Pyrrhia because, as their name implies, they are supposedly the only snake that can kill a dragon with one bite. This was proved at the end of The Brightest Night, where a bite on the foot from one killed Burn in a matter of minutes.
It is possible that dragonbite vipers are more agressive than normal snakes, as the second one that Blister had hidden in the box struck at Burn with no warning.
