Darkstalker's scroll

Darkstalker's scroll is an ordinary scroll enchanted to hold the animus power of Darkstalker, as a way to prevent his soul being drained for using them. By writing specifications on a piece of the scroll, any dragon could use it at will. Chameleon is the last known dragon to own/use the scroll. He used pieces of the scroll to transform himself into entirely different dragons of different species, partially to make up for the fact that he cannot change his scales. He can take the forms of Cirrus the Icewing, Soar the SkyWing, ShapeShifter the Nightwing, in addition to unknown SandWing, SeaWing, and MudWing forms. Chameleon uses the scroll to assist Ex-Queen Scarlet in exchange for treasures. Pyrite is a fake dragon that anyone can become by wearing the piece of this scroll (usually in a necklace) that Chameleon presumably wrote. Hailstorm was "hidden" by taking the form of Pyrite for two years, and when the necklace containing the scroll piece is forcibly removed he/she turns back into Hailstorm. However, after being Pyrite for so long, his memories are an unclear mess. At the end of Escaping Peril, Peril sees that even good dragons fought over the scroll, and she takes it in her talons and burns it to ashes so no dragon could ever use it, for good or for evil.
