Blob is an animus-touched piece of carved driftwood in the shape of an octopus that was created by Fathom as a pet for Indigo. Fathom specifically enchanted Blob to have the sweetest, most loyal, and most agreeable personality of any pet in Pyrrhia[1].
Appearance
Blob is a white, carved wooden octopus about the size of a full-grown dragon's foot, with large dark eyes. He feels oddly like wood, but malleable and warm[2].
Biography
Fathom enchanted a piece of bleached white driftwood to be a carving of an octopus. He then willed it to be alive as Indigo's pet, and to be the best and most loyal pet in Pyrrhia, which Indigo then named Blob. Blob then climbed onto her head, which he seems to prefer to perch on.
Later when Indigo, Fathom, and Pearl were preparing for a party, Blob was perched on Indigo's head. When the dragonets leave for the party, Indigo tells Blob to stay, because she could not bring him with her.
When Fathom told Indigo he was going to carve something for Clearsight, Indigo mentioned she still had Blob but kept him hidden.
Sometime after Indigo disappears, Fathom spots Blob under his blankets. Fathom quickly hides him, and wonders why Indigo left without Blob.
When Darkstalker showed Fathom his animus scroll, he was irritated that Fathom's thoughts are preoccupied with a mystery involving an octopus instead of paying attention to the scroll.
Later, when Fathom freed Indigo from Darkstalker's enchantment, he grabbed Blob and showed him to Indigo. She then happily set Blob on her head and told him to hang on tight.
Five years later, Blob was seen playing with Fathom and Indigo's dragonets and then resting on the head of one of their dragonets, Ripple.
Trivia
- There is a chance that Blob might still be alive and on the same island that Fathom and Indigo settled on south of the Rainforest Kingdom after Darkstalker's defeat and disappearance, since Blob was created by Fathom's animus magic.
