This is the ceremony by which all two year old SeaWing dragonets are tested to see whether of not they exhibit the recessive animus gene.
History
After being bullied by his elder sister, Princess Saphire, Albatross discovered his magical abilities by commanding a shell to "Bite her talons off!", leading to the loss of a potential canadite for the SeaWing throne. To prevent any other such catastrophic event and to better make use of animus magic.
