The Skyfire is a chunk of rock broken off of the Comet. When a dragon holds a piece, their minds are shielded from being read by a telepathic NightWing. In Moon Rising Moonwatcher gives a piece of Skyfire to all her friends to shield their minds from her telepathic powers.
