Scorching

Scavenger

The Scorching was a period of time in Pyrrhia when the dragons overthrew the scavengers, or humans. Dragon tribes were formed based on abilities (sand, water, mud, etc). Each tribe formed a queen, thus allowing dragons to get help when they needed it making it extremely hard for humans to kill even one dragon. It is mentioned several times in the first book.
