Ruby

Queen Ruby is a false identity that Ex-Queen Scarlet used to hide her daughter Tourmaline. Feeling that her throne was close to being threatened, Scarlet had Chameleon make an enchantment, using Darkstalker's Scroll, that would transform Tourmaline into Ruby, making the ambitious princess shyer and intimidated by her mother. When Tourmaline was under the spell, believing she was Ruby, she was given false memories of Tourmaline, making her believe that Tourmaline was her sister. She “remembered” Tourmaline flying with her at night, preparing to challenge Scarlet. Ruby suspected Peril of killing Tourmaline, until Escaping Peril.

When Queen Scarlet went missing at the end of The Dragonet Prophecy, no one knew if she was alive or dead. Her only heir, Queen Ruby, took the throne, until Escaping Peril, when Queen Scarlet took back the throne and imprisoned Ruby temporarily, until Ruby finally killed Queen Scarlet in a formal challenge. During the challenge, Ruby is transformed back into Tourmaline, before forcing Chameleon to make her Queen Ruby again, with all her memories intact.

Queen Ruby is the mother of Prince Cliff. In Escaping Peril, Cliff is kidnapped by Scarlet and used as a pawn to make Ruby do as she wanted. Peril guarded Cliff, until he escaped back to his mother later in the book.

Queen Ruby is known as a good queen. She turned her mother's arena into a medical centre, and took a lot of the treasure decorating the castle to pay for it. She has welcomed back all exiled SkyWings, even Peril.
