Dune
Template:InfoboxDune was a three-clawed SandWing and a former member of the Talons of Peace. He was one of the five (or three, discluding the deceased Asha and Hvitur) Guardians of the Dragonets.
History
Dune was placed along with Kestrel, Webs, Asha, and Hvitur to protect the Dragonets of Destiny. However, Hvitur was killed by Burn's poisonous tail while attempting to bring the SkyWing egg (which was smashed to pieces), and Asha died of recently inflicted wounds after delivering Clay's egg. Therefore it only left him, Kestrel, and Webs to raise Tsunami, Clay, Sunny, Starflight, and Glory. Dune had lost one of his legs and incurably mangled his wing before the beginning of the series. His injuries most likely came from the war, as he expressed dislike for it. It is unknown which side of the war he fought on before joining the Talons (of Peace).
He tended to be harsh on Glory, but not as much as Kestrel. He was nicer to Sunny, and made sure to teach her more due to her disabilites. After the visit from Morrowseer, he was the second most reluctant to kill Glory (after Webs, who was horrified of the idea of having to kill Glory and was the first to deny for participation in her execution, probably for the reason that Webs was the one who brought Glory to the cave). Later, when Clay and Tsunami escaped the cave, it lead to the attack by Queen Scarlet. During the battle, Dune was pinned by Scarlet, and she violently snapped his neck. Sunny was very distraught over this (she had shown grief to all the deceased guardians).
