Template:LocationHeader The Diamond Empire, among Cottonmouth's empire and the Jaguar Empire, was one of the three major human settlements prior to the events of the Scorching.

Description

The Diamond Empire was located north of Cottonmouth's empire, behind a mountain range. It included at least one city with a towering stepped temple, and the temperatures were quite cold.[1]

One of the Diamond Empire's borders contained a pass that went into Cottonmouth's empire.[2] They also shared a river border with the Jaguar Empire.[2] Cottonmouth claimed that most of the empire's dragons were sea dragons with the ability to swim but an inability to breathe fire.[3]

Society

The humans within the Diamond Empire wore heavy furs over snow-white wool wrappings. They spoke a different language from the humans within Cottonmouth's empire.[2] The Diamond Empire had an army called the Diamond Army,[3] and it was ruled by an emperor.[4] They were at war with Cottonmouth's empire and the Jaguar Empire in order to expand their territory.[2]

History

The Lost Continent Prophecy

The Diamond Empire was first mentioned by Coyote when he claimed that dragons lived on the edges of the empire. Coyote then mentioned that the empire was stuck along a river border with Empress Jaguar. Later, Cottonmouth claimed that by controlling dragons, he would turn the Diamond Empire's armies to dust. One of Cottonmouth's citizens mentioned that there had been rumors of the Diamond Empire attempting to control dragons as well, to which Cottonmouth argued that the dragons in their territories swam and could not breathe fire; Cottonmouth believed that his own empire's dragons would be the most dangerous. Later, in a memory experienced by Luna, humans within the Diamond Empire were burned by attacking dragons.
