The abyss is a pit located underneath Lake Scorpion, which was the location of the brain of the othermind and was described to have something glowing and green within it. It was described to have been acting strangely "for the first time in years" ever since the othermind escaped the Poison Jungle. Whispers were mentioned to have been coming from it, reaching the upper caves of Raven's village. Inside the abyss there is a throne room, where the corpses of Freedom and Cottonmouth used to sit before they were defeated. The anomaly has presumably stopped since the othermind was defeated in The Flames of Hope by Luna.
