Yellowjacket Hive

Template:Infobox LocationYellowjacket Hive is one of the two northernmost of the nine Hives of Pantala. It is connected between Wasp Hive and Tsetse Hive, and is the closest Hive to the Poison Jungle.

History

The Poison Jungle

When Swordtail reunites with Io and then asks her how she ended up in the Poison Jungle, she says that her original plan was to hide with the Chrysalis in Yellowjacket Hive. However, Io was spotted by guards at Yellowjacket Hive, who chased her towards the Poison Jungle.

Later in the book, Commander Belladonna mentions Yellowjacket Hive as the next Hive that she would burn down, saying "We just need a little more flamesilk, and Yellowjacket Hive will be a pile of ash before you can blink.". Belladonna did not follow through with this plan, however, because of the HiveWings destroying the Poison Jungle, and Belladonna becoming controlled by the Othermind.

Trivia

• Given that Cicada rules Cicada Hive, Queen Wasp rules Wasp Hive, and Bloodworm is most likely in charge of Bloodworm Hive, Yellowjacket Hive is likely ruled by a ruler named Lady Yellowjacket.
• In the Poison Jungle Io states that she was planning to hide with the Chrysalis in Yellowjacket Hive. This may mean that Yellowjacket Hive has a Chrysalis large enough that Io thought she could be successfully hidden for any length of time.
