Wings of Fire (game)

The Wings of Fire Game is a standard shoot 'em up from the top-down perspective. The description of the game on the front page was "Help the dragonets defend the skies!" It could previously be played on the Scholastic website, but it no longer exists.

Playing the game

When you went to the game's page, it would load in your browser. There, the title is "Wings of Fire" despite being called "Game" on the home page. You controled Clay by clicking and dragging — if you were on mobile, you could drag him on the touch screen. Clay automatically fired when enemy dragons, probably IceWings, are on screen. He lost heath when hit by the IceWings' projectiles. You were unable to proceed to the top half of the screen, and there was no penalty for allowing an enemy to reach the bottom. You could also touch the IceWings without taking damage, though you'd likely be hit by their projectiles. When Clay died, he exploded. There was no music, and all of the sound effects ere generic. The game had no end; the only objective was to get the highest possible score.

All of the high scores were recorded on Scholastic's website on a leaderboard separated into weekly, monthly, and all-time high scores.

Trivia

• The game had you play as Clay even though the description stated that you were helping all of the dragonets.
• This game no longer exists; however, you can play Wings of Fire games on Scholastic Home Base.
