We The Dragons of the Sky

In Escaping Peril, Prince Cliff, the only son of Queen Ruby and Ex-Queen Scarlet's grandson, made up a song called "We The Dragons of the Sky". This was created after Ex-Queen Scarlet reclaimed her throne in the Sky Kingdom, and took Cliff hostage to get Ruby to cooperate with her. Scarlet was asleep on her throne, while Peril, who was under Chameleon's enchantment and therefore working for Ex-Queen Scarlet, was watching Cliff to prevent him from trying to escape. Cliff asked if she wanted to hear a song he'd just made up, and after he sang it to her, Peril wisely advised Cliff not to sing the song to his grandmother, seeing as how it implied that Ruby was a much better queen than Scarlet.

Trivia

• This is the second song performed in the whole series, following the dragonets of destiny song in The Dragonet Prophecy, and preceding Strawberries as Big as a Scavenger's Head, mentioned in Darkness of Dragons.
  • Both the dragonets of destiny song and We the Dragons of the Sky have rhyming lyrics, although dragonets of destiny rhymes better, and the lyrics to Strawberries as Big as a Scavenger's head remain unreleased.
