Treehopper is an adult male HiveWing who was introduced in The Hive Queen. He works as Lady Jewel's treasurer and is in a forbidden relationship with Tau.
Appearance
Treehopper has dark greenish-black scales with pale orange stripes along his wings, tail, and face. He is plump and worried-looking.[1]
Personality
He appears to be a kinder HiveWing. Despite the risk of a forbidden relationship, Treehopper's relationship with Tau is said to be obvious, implying that the couple might not be very secretive. He blames himself when Wasp enters his mind.[2]

The Lost Continent Prophecy
Treehopper was shown reading a book before Tau, a SilkWing, approached him. He began a conversation with Tau, the two laughed and their wings brushed occasionally. However during the conversation, he was abruptly taken over by Queen Wasp. Luckily, the queen did not discover their relationship. When he was himself again, he apologized to Tau, who reassured him that it was not his fault.
One of Snowfall's visions were in Tau's point of view. Treehopper was frequently mentioned, as Tau worried about how Wasp controls him and could have manipulated him into killing dragons he would never want to kill.
