"No other tribe bonds with their brothers and sisters like we do, which makes MudWings very special and pretty definitely the most loyal, caring tribe in Pyrrhia."
— Sepia about MudWings, A Guide to the Dragon World

Sepia is a female MudWing dragonet who was introduced in Moon Rising. She serves as the communicator of her sibling troop[1] and is currently attending Jade Mountain Academy as a member of the Silver Winglet.

Description

Sepia is big-shouldered.[2]

Personality

Sepia spoke stoutly and brusquely towards Winter.[3]

Biography

The Jade Mountain Prophecy

Sepia was in the music room when the Jade Winglet and Silver Winglet were put together. She danced, along with Anemone, Turtle, Kinkajou, and Boto, to Qibli's drumming.

Later on, Sepia was tramping down the mountainside with Newt to find somewhere cool and muddy to lie down.

Sepia attended a history class along with the remnants of the Gold and Jade Winglets. When Winter defended Darkstalker after he was called a murderer, Sepia called Icicle a murderer and questioned his judgment. When Winter responded that Sora was the one that blew up the history cave, Sepia calmly answered that it was because of Icicle's actions in the first place. Qibli had to step between the two to prevent a fight, and the class got back to studying after an interjection from Webs.

Field Guides

Sepia was mentioned by Starflight in the opening note of the MudWing section. She provided her own commentary on Wisemind's The Sluglike Qualities of the MudWings in the margins of the scroll, garnering Starflight's attention.

Starflight wrote a note to her, chastising her for writing on the scroll but also encouraging her to write her own scroll about MudWing troops after he learned from Fatespeaker that there were only two MudWing-written works in the academy library. Sepia's scroll titled A Few of the Many Noble Qualities of MudWings, a scroll about MudWing siblings, was then featured in the guide.

Quotes

"Says the dragon whose sister turned out to be a murderer."
― Sepia to Winter about Icicle (Darkness of Dragons, page 23)

"At least until I came to school, where I work EXTREMELY hard at everything I do and got the highest score in the Silver Winglet in Persuasive Essay Writing!"
― Sepia about her work ethic at Jade Mountain Academy (A Guide to the Dragon World, page 11)

"This snooty NightWing knows NOTHING about my amazing tribe!!"
― Sepia about Wisemind (A Guide to the Dragon World, page 11)

Trivia

  • Sepia has the highest grade in the Silver Winglet's Persuasive Essay Writing.[4]
