Template:SpoilerDragonslayer Template:Charbox General Sandstorm was a SandWing general under Burn's army. He was poisoned by Wren (with the assistance of Rose) using rat poison found in the kitchen of Burn's Stronghold. The poison took effect during a battle against the Outclaws, led by Thorn in an attempt to rescue Sunny. He clutched his stomach and collapsed onto the sand amidst the battle. General Sandstorm appears on the cover of Dragonslayer.

Appearance

According to the cover of Dragonslayer, General Sandstorm had a face covered in scars, and dark, but not black, diamond patterns similar to the onesPrince Smolder and Princess Blister have. He had pale, sandy yellow wing membranes, a golden frill, yellow scales, dark grayish-blue eyes, and white teeth, talons, and horns. He also appeared to have a slight underbite. Sandstorm has a red-colored tongue on the cover, but this is most likely Joy Ang’s mistake. He is shown to look less like a normal SandWing and more like Sunny with his golden scales.

In Dragonslayer, he is described as enormous and gleaming, and that its venomous tail was a promise of death to come.

Personality

In Dragonslayer, Wren describes Sandstorm as being annoying and a total lunatic when threatening the Indestructible City. He is loyal to Burn and was willing to capture Sky to sell him to her.

Biography

Sandstorm was placed in charge of the defense of Burn's Stronghold while Burn was off searching for the dragonets of destiny. Sandstorm was killed in a battle against Thorn and the Outclaws in their attempt to rescue Sunny from Princess Burn. Camel told Smolder about Sandstorm's death while Smolder was showing Sunny the old treasure chambers.

General Sandstorm was threatening the Indestructible City, dodging whatever people shot at him and laughing. He had attacked the Indestructible City five times before. Later on, he is shown to have locked Sky into his room with the intention of giving him to Queen Burn as a gift. Wren poisoned Sandstorm’s milk with rat poison to free Sky, and Sandstorm dies from it while fighting the Outclaws.

Quotes

"HA HA, PUNY SCAVENGERS! YOU CAN NEVER HIT ME! I AM THE GREATEST WARRIOR IN THE ENTIRE ARMY OF SAND! HA HA HA!"

"HA HA HA! [...] JUST YOU WAIT, YOU COCKROACHES! THE QUEEN KNOWS YOU MUST HAVE HER TREASURE! ONE DAY SOON I WILL RETURN WITH MY GLORIOUS ARMY AND DESTROY YOU!"

"HOW ARE WE ALL THIS FINE, FINE MORNING? [...] HA HA HA! AN EXCELLENT DAY TO FIGHT SOME ICE DRAGONS BEFORE WE GO HOME, DON'T YOU THINK?"

"THEN OFF WE GO!"

Trivia

  • A sandstorm is a strong, dry, wind carrying clouds of sand with it, often found in deserts.
  • Despite most SandWings having black tongues, General Sandstorm is shown having a red tongue on the cover of Dragonslayer. This is most likely a mistake on Joy Ang's part.
  • General Sandstorm died from rat poison pellets while fighting the Outclaws, showing that rat poison has the ability to kill dragons.
  • He is the second known dragon to have been killed by a human, the first being Queen Oasis
    • Sandstorm is also the second known SandWing to be killed by a human, coincedently.
