- — Sandfly to Blue, The Lost Continent
Sandfly is an adult female HiveWing who was introduced in The Lost Continent. She formerly served as a guard in the flamesilk factory under Queen Wasp.
Appearance
Sandfly has pale yellow scales speckled everywhere with tiny black spots, like a swarm of flies in the desert.[1]
Personality
She appears to be very loyal to Queen Wasp and did not think anyone would dare to steal the Book of Clearsight. She was also described to be uninterested in the flamesilks.
Biography
The Lost Continent Prophecy
Sandfly debuted when she asked for Admiral to supply his daily flamesilk. After he was done, Admiral introduced Blue to Sandfly, and the uninterested HiveWing guard remarked that he was very young. When Blue asked what happened to the dragons who stole the Book of Clearsight, Sandfly became shocked and shouted at him that that never happened, nobody would dare and asked him why he would say such traitorous things. Blue realized that Queen Wasp must not have told her subjects about the incident, and he 'corrected' himself, saying that the thieves obviously failed. Sandfly was relieved and mentioned that she had not heard about an execution yesterday, so maybe today or tomorrow. Blue was worried but realized that Sandfly just assumed that Wasp captured Cricket and Sundew because of her ability to mind-control HiveWings, as she did not know about Cricket's immunity.
