Rattlesnake is a SandWing mentioned in Moon Rising. She or he is one of Qibli's siblings along with his other sibling, Sirocco. They used to bully and torture Qibli before he went to join Thorn and the Outclaws. Qibli sometimes thinks or dreams about Rattlesnake and Sirocco doing mean things to him. In Moonwatcher's vision, they were described to be huge, bulky dragons, wearing a medallion with a type of bird etched on it. Rattlesnake and Sirocco seem to be working for someone, perhaps Onyx.
Moonwatcher has a vision about Qibli fighting Rattlesnake and Sirocco, with an older male dragon (possibly Qibli's father) glowering at him as well, shouting "Where is she?" at the sneering faces of his presumably siblings. 'She' could possibly mean Moonwatcher, Kinkajou, or even their mother.
Qibli comments to Winter that if his brother was trapped in a SkyWing prison he wouldn't try to save him, as per the other way around. He then says that it would be better for a dragon like that to be locked up, so they can no longer do harm to others. It is, however, unconfirmed which sibling, Rattlesnake or Sirocco, he was talking about.
Onyx may have been trying to talk to Sirocco and Rattlesnake, planning to overthrow Queen Thorn.
A group of dragons, most likely including Qibli's siblings, terrified the SandWing tribe by setting off dragon flame cacti.
Trivia
- It is possible that Rattlesnake will make an appearance in Darkness of Dragons.
- Because Qibli has a brother and a sister, it is unknown which Rattlesnake is.
