PoisonWings

The PoisonWings are a coalition of extremely militaristic LeafWings founded by Belladonna's mother, who wanted revenge on the HiveWings and SilkWings after what happened in the Tree Wars. Queen Sequoia had ordered Belladonna's mother, an important general, to abandon the battle and go into hiding to wait until Queen Wasp died, but she refused. They are blazing with rage and want revenge on the HiveWings for destroying the trees on Pantala but the ones in the Poison Jungle. Their opinions contradict those of the SapWings, who want peace between all the tribes. They are currently led by Commander Belladonna. It is important to note that PoisonWings are not a separate tribe, but a group of LeafWings.

SapWings such as Willow have called the PoisonWings "offshoots" of the original tribe. The PoisonWings have tried to cut off all contact with the  LeafWings still under Queen Sequoia's rule, whom they call the  SapWings. They claim that SapWings are weak and cowardly. The PoisonWings made their own camp in a different part of the Poison Jungle, and banned any contact with the  SapWings. However, the leaders of the two LeafWings tribes meet regularly in secret in spite of their ideological differences and personal dislike of the other. When she was chasing a frog Sundew found Willow. They were the only relations between the two groups besides the leaders at the start of The Poison Jungle. 

PoisonWings also have arranged marriages. These marriages are based on the two partners ability to leafspeak, somewhat in a fashion similar to selective breeding. The idea is that if the two dragons with the most powerful leaf speak will have a dragonet that has even more powerful leafspeak, and the use this leaf speak to defeat Queen Wasp. The status of a PoisonWing may also be based on their ability to leafspeak. 

PoisonWings also do not have traditional LeafWing names. Rather, they are named after carnivorous and poisonous plants that are in the a Poison Jungle. They used to be named after different kinds of trees, but only the SapWings stuck to that tradition after the Tree Wars. For example, Sundew (a PoisonWing) is named after a sundew plant, which uses sticky tendrils to trap insects and eat them, whereas Willow (a SapWing) is named after a willow tree, which a very peaceful, non-threatening, non-carnivorous plant.

In a turn of events, the PoisonWings and now traveling to Pyrrhia with the SapWings to get away from the Othermind.

Trivia

• "PoisonWings" are not the name that most members of this faction refer to themselves, instead simply referring to themselves as LeafWings. The term appears to be derogatory. This is alike to how SapWings do not call themselves SapWings. Both SapWings and PoisonWings think of themselves as the one true LeafWing tribe, and sometimes seem to prefer if the other one did not exist.
