Template:CharboxPierid is a male SilkWing who appears in The Lost Continent. He is one of the ten flamesilk SilkWings kept by Queen Wasp and is said to be untrustworthy by Danaid. Blue states that he seems desperately unhappy, and is one of the few flamesilks who might be interested in escape. When Blue first noticed him, he noticed that his talons seemed to twitch in his sleep.

Appearance

Pierid has pink scales and pale pink wings.

Biography

The Lost Continent

While talking with Blue, Danaid accidentally sparks up a shouting fight with her, Fritillary, and Pierid. Pierid complains that it wasn't his fault this or that happened throughout the argument, although eventually Danaid is able to shut him up. Afterward, Danaid lists all the Flamesilks kept in the Flamesilk Factory to Blue and describes Pierid as untrustworthy.

Later, Blue visits all the Flamesilks and notices that Pierid seemed "desperately unhappy", which makes him suspect that he dislikes life in the Flamesilk Factory.

Blue has a nightmare where Danaid, Fritillary and Pierid scream at each other through the winding halls of Cricket's school.

Pierid is seen later shouting along with the nine other Flamesilks in the giant screaming commotion Danaid causes. Pierid wails at the others that it is midnight and they need to be quiet.

Trivia

• Pierid is named after the pieridae, a family of butterfly containing around 1,100 species.
