The Old Language was the original language spoken by the residents on the continent of Pantala. It appears to be based on Latin in some aspects, such as Luna, meaning "moon" for Pantala's residents.

In The Hive Queen, Luna mentions to Moon that her name means "moon" in the Old Language. Later in the book, Lady Scarab mentions the the Old Language while telling Cricket the history of her tribe and her family.
