The Outclaws are a group of dragons led by Thorn. They lived primarily in the Scorpion Den, although they had other secret dens scattered around the Kingdom of Sand.[1] They currently reside within the SandWing stronghold.
Goals & Description
The Outclaws are peacekeepers, preventing the Scorpion Den from becoming a mess of crime. To create peace and order, Thorn took over the oasis and, with the water, restored order, regularly distributing it among everyone. The Outclaws provide free meals to all dragonets up to eight years old after sunrise at a pool to make sure no dragonet died of hunger,[2] and Thorn originally created the Outclaws in an attempt to find Sunny.[3] They help dragons who are sick or injured.[4] They are extremely loyal to Thorn, and would run straight into danger if it threatened her;[5] during Vulture's attack on the SandWing stronghold, the first thing many Outclaws did was form a protective circle around her.[6]
Many living in the Scorpion Den do not trust Thorn and the Outclaws. This was shown when one mother refused to let them send her dragonet to the oasis because she thought that it was just a plot to recruit dragons for the war, therefore letting the dragonet become skinny, weak, and frail. Other dragons fear them, as they quickly disappeared at the appearance of Six-Claws.

After doing so, Sunny met up with Thorn and parted ways; Thorn and her Outclaws went back to the Scorpion Den and Sunny went first to Jade Mountain so she could see her father, Stonemover, then to the Rainforest Kingdom after the short detour. |
