Ostrich was an adult female SandWing who was introduced in Deserter. She resided in the SandWing stronghold and was a member of Burn's army during the War of SandWing Succession, in which she was killed during combat. Before her death, she served as one of Queen Oasis' most trusted guards.
Personality
Ostrich was incredibly loyal towards Queen Oasis[1] and showed cautious respect to Burn after Oasis' death.[2]

Relationships
When Oasis died, Ostrich pushed through the crowd to crouch beside her body.[3]
Ostrich taught her son how to keep watch, fight, and defend his queen at any cost.[4] She was affectionate[1] towards him and wrapped a wing around his shoulders during one conversation.[5] He agreed to become a soldier in the SandWing army partly because he thought that Ostrich would approve.[6]
