In the prologue, after Clearsight arrived on Pantala and saved the tribes, Clearsight had several different possible visions about her future on the lost continent. In one of them, she moved in with an old, "affable" LeafWing, who was known as Maple. It is mentioned that Maple speaks "the old language."
