This disease is most likely contagious because if Darkstalker was targeting the IceWing Queen, ([[Queen Glacier]]) it must've spread to the messenger and then to Hailstorm and his parents. It is unknown why only the royal family have been the only victims.

In the epilogue of Talons of Power, a plague is spoken of that had started three days before the current day. Evidently, a great deal of the IceWing tribe, or at least the royal ones, had contracted it.

This disease is most likely contagious because if Darkstalker was targeting the IceWing Queen (Queen Glacier), it must have spread to the messenger and then to Hailstorm and his parents. It is unknown why the royal family have been the only victims.

Trivia

  • It is unknown so far if other dragon tribes, those of IceWing descent, or IceWing hybrids can catch the plague, or if it spreads from dragon to dragon at all.
  • It has been speculated by some fans that King Darkstalker made the plague due to his hatred of IceWings. However, no information given to us by the book, sneak peeks, or Tui has confirmed this suspicion.
  • It may or may not be a coincidence that this occurred close to the same time as the events in other tribes mentioned in the epilogue.
