In the epilogue of Talons of Power, a plague is spoken of that had started three days before the current day. Evidently, a great deal of the IceWing tribe, or at least the royal ones, had contracted it.
Symptoms
Coughing and fever. Eventually, as soon as three days or less, death can occur.
This disease is most likely contagious because if Darkstalker was targeting the IceWing Queen, (Queen Glacier) it must've spread to the messenger and then to Hailstorm and his parents. It is unknown why only the royal family have been the only victims.
Dragons confirmed sick
- Queen Glacier (now deceased)
- Prince Narwhal (bedridden)
- Princess Tundra (bedridden)
- Prince Hailstorm (weakened)
- Messenger whom confronted Hailstorm (weakened)
