The water has a foggy green haze, with the bottom made of silt and oozing mud, and it is lined with tangled trees and sharp, jutting rocks.[1] The water is poisonous and drinking too much can make one sick.[2]

The Lost Continent Prophecy
Turtle is mentioned to have drank too much from the Gullet River and gotten sick upon arriving at the SapWing village. Later, Queen Hazel tells her dragons to gather all the refugee SilkWings and LeafWings to the north shore of the Gullet River.
