Description
The Glitterbazaar is an area in the Jewel Hive with many tents and cells containing shops. It takes up the entire first three levels of the Jewel Hive, plus an extra area outside the Hive entrance for shops and tents which don't have room to be inside. The outside area is covered by a silk canopy to keep the wares mostly dry in the rainy season. It is not said to be particularly sparkly, which is ironic due to its namesake. Cricket noted that the shops are not organized in any specific way, merely squeezed into whatever space that is available.
In the middle of the first floor, there is the Salvation Statue, which is similar to the Salvation Mosaic in Cicada Hive. It depicts a triumphant statue of Queen Wasp, carved in stone with ruby eyes, holding an unrealistically shiny Book of Clearsight to the sky while impaling a LeafWing—an abstract male LeafWing known as 'The Enemy'—through the heart with one of her wrist stingers. The Salvation Statue stands in the center of a neat circle of grass. It is two times the size of an actual dragon. The Jewel Hive Chrysalis uses it as a way to communicate, via a message on a leaf tucked into a crack in the base.
History
The Glitterbazaar appeared in the Hive Queen when Cricket, Blue, Swordtail and Sundew walked through it, and took various items for disguises. Blue left some of his flamesilk to 'pay' for it.
Sundew mentioned the Glitterbazaar when explaining how she got Blue's flamesilk.
