Gill

Template:Infobox Gill, aka King Gill, was the mate of Queen Coral, and the former king of the SeaWings. He was killed by his own daughter, Tsunami, in the SkyWing Arena, before she was aware of their relationship.

Appearance

Gill was a large, powerful SeaWing with pea-green scales and green eyes. In the arena, he was shown to be insane, with bloodshot eyes and a purple, swollen tongue.

History

The Dragonet Prophecy

According to Vermillion, a few months before the events of The Dragonet Prophecy, Gill refused to fight and attempted to start a prisoner revolution. He was punished severely by Queen Scarlet, who took away all his water for months, driving him insane. Shortly after this, he was pitted against Tsunami in the SkyWing Arena. Gill was desperate and dehydrated, and would have killed Tsunami without realizing it. She pinned him down to sand, claiming that she had won without killing him, and then Queen Scarlet mocked her. In retaliation, she snapped his neck with the expression "I'm imagining this is you."

The Lost Heir

Tsunami was told by Queen Coral that Gill was her father, and that he had been captured while out on a mission. After finding out that he had been taken to the arena and subsequently killed, Coral wondered why he would fight, saying that he would have simply talked the other dragon out of attacking. Tsunami then explained that Gill had been punished for doing so, and that Queen Scarlet had taken away his water until he became dehydrated and driven mad. Tsunami later became overwhelmed with guilt, even though she tried to convince herself that it wasn't her fault and that if she hadn't killed him, he would have killed her. Queen Coral was extremely saddened after the death of Gill.

The Dark Secret

Gill wasn't exactly mentioned, but Tsunami had a dream that Starflight went into with his Dreamvisitor. The dream was about her strangling the skeleton shape of Gill, and then Anemone came and Tsunami was trying to tell her it was a accident and that she had no choice. Anemone then strangled Gill herself while Tsunami was trying to hold her back. The nightmare was centered around Tsunami's fear of Anemone being driven mad by her animus powers and her guilt of killing Gill.

Personality

Little is known about his personality, though Coral recounted to Tsunami that he was the perfect dragon to be king. He was smart, strong, of a noble family, and persuasive.
