The dragonmancers are a supposedly powerful group of scavengers, or humans, residing in and presumably ruling over Talisman. The dragonmancers are Master Trout, Crow, and Gorge. There were originally four dragonmancers, but one was sacrificed to the dragons so the others could get their share of treasure.
At the beginning of the Dragonslayer the dragonmancers tried to sacrifice Wren during the Gift for the Dragons ceremony, and because of the them, Wren did not trust other humans. According to Rowan, there have been others sacrificed before her, such as an unnamed dragonmancer apprentice.
